Millet Khichdi is a Gluten Free, Tasty, Easy To Make recipe. It is highly Nutritious and an ideal dish which can be ate as a lunch or dinner. Below is the Method to make it :
Ingredients
- 2 cups Millet
- 2 cups Chana daal
- 3 tsp ghee/butter
- Ginger Garlic paste
- 2 red dried chillies
- 2 green chopped chillies
- Chopped onion
- Chopped tomatoes
- Thinly chopped carrots
- 3 cups water
- Salt as per taste
- Garam masala
- Turmeric
- Red Chilli powder
- Lemon juice
Total Ingredients : 15
Method
- Take pressure cooker and pour 3cups water into it. Add Millet and Chana daal to it. Add some salt and Turmeric, mix well. Allow it to cook for 4-5 whistles, or till it gets little soft grained. Turn off flame, and let the steam get off.
- Take a masher and mash the Millet and daal.
- In a pan heat 2 tsp ghee and add cumin seeds, dried red chillies, green chillies, onions, carrots, ginger garlic paste to it. Toss it for a minute.
- Add tomatoes, cook it for some time. Then add red chillies powder, Turmeric, Garam masala to it.
- Add the cooked Millet, daal to this mixture. Mix it. Squeeze in the Lemon juice from top and mix it thoroughly to get lemon juice taste to whole Khichdi.
- Lastly add the remaining 1tsp ghee atop to add to its nutritional value and mix.
